The cards are on the table

The new graphics card is in! Bit of a rough road getting everything up and running. The new card would POST fine, but the system would lock if I tried to boot Windows 2000. Pretty much a boot-time Blue Screen of Death without the blue screen. XP64 would boot fine and installed drivers OK, so the hardware had to be good. Long story short, I had to reinstall Windows 2000. Probably just as well though, this is the first time I've reinstalled Windows since I built this machine almost 3 years ago. Oh yeah, HUGE difference in Oblivion. /me is very happy. More soon.

Edit 6/22: Added a pic of the new and old cards. The back side of the Gigabyte has an even bigger heatsink than on the front side. Weird thing is that the Gigabyte card is only slightly heavier than the Evga one. The 7800GS's a thin 'sink must be more copper than meets the eye cause that sucker weighs a lot!
